Getting started¶
In this article, you'll learn how to get started with Codadot G/L Translations.
Requirements¶
To install Codadot G/L Translations, you'll need to have the following:
- Either a Business Central online Production environment or Sandbox environment
- An active billing profile in your Microsoft account
- Role to make AppSource purchases in your Microsoft tenant
- Permissions to install extensions in Business Central
Licensing¶
You can try out G/L Translations for free for 1 month in any environment. After your trial has ended, you are required to have an active license for user accounts interacting with or using G/L Translations.
After installing the app¶
- First, enable the extension. To do this, use the Search Everywhere function and type in
Setup - G/L Translations
. - Toggle the switch next to
Enabled
to enable the module. - Specify the language code of the language that is currently being used as the base language in the system.
- Initialize the base translations using the button in the ribbon
- Navigate to the
Translation Worksheet
and either manually create translations for a specific language, or, create empty translations for all G/L accounts for a specific language, speeding up the translation process. - That's it! Your company is now set up for translated general ledger account names in Business Central.
Assigning permissions¶
G/L Translations has two built-in permission sets.

Allows you to configure G/L Translations and allows you to manage translations |
COTGLT USER |
Only allows you to view translated account names |
Assign a permission set either directly to a user, or, extend an existing permission set you've already created by including it.
The COTGLT ALL
permission set is already added to the built-in administrator permission set. Additionally, the COTGLT USER
permission set is already added to the built-in basic permission set.
